South Africa will be up against India in a three match T20I series which will begin from Wednesday in Thiruvananthapuram. This will be a final rehearsal for both the sides before the T20I World Cup in Australia from next month onwards.

The last time the Proteas were here, they couldn't capitalize on a 2-0 lead they got early in the series. The team led by Rishabh Pant managed to win two matches on the trot before the final match in Bangalore was washed out.

"Bhuvi and Bumrah they always challenge you"

Temba Bavuma, the South African skipper spoke about the effectiveness of the Indian bowling attack. He stressed on the importance of trying to not to lose wickets in early in the innings. the 32 year old also mentioned how Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were a threat in the powerplay overs.

Speaking about the challenges the batters face against the swinging ball in the initial overs, Bavuma said:

“Facing the new ball bowlers (in India) is quite challenging, they make the ball to swing and move in quite a bit, a bit more than what we are accustomed to in South Africa. That’s obviously a challenge you have to manoeuvre around."

South African squad: Temba Bavuma (captain), Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Wayne Parnell, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Rilee Rossouw, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs.
