The fifth match of The Hundred 2022 will witness Welsh Fire and Oval Invincibles in action. The two teams will face off at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, Wales on August 7.

Having suffered a loss in their respective opening fixtures, Oval Invincibles and Welsh Fire are positioned at the sixth and eighth spots currently.

The Fire met with a disastrous outing in the tournament opener. Pitted against Southern Brave, Joshua Cobb and Co. were completely outplayed. As Welsh could accumulate only 107 runs in 100 balls, with Ben Duckett (40 runs) being their top-scorer, the opposition reached the target in the 69th delivery of their innings.

For the Invincibles, the result did not pan out as they would have liked. However, it was a rather close affair.

Sunil Narine's two-for in his 20-ball spell restricted London Spirit to 171-6. The match did go down to the wire, courtesy of Danny Briggs' late blitz. But it was not a happy ending for Oval as they lost by three runs.
