The 6IXTY 2022: Sunil Narine’s run-chase special guides Knight Riders to final

The Knight Riders topped every department, including the toss, in this one-sided semi-final showdown.

For starters, the Royals charted 101 off their 10 overs, off the back of contributions from each of their top three batters. Their innings faced several hindrances in the middle, with Knight Riders’ Terrance Hinds striking thrice in his two-over spell.

Later, the Sunil Narine-led side overhauled the total within nine overs of their innings. The captain himself struck a solid 35 at the top from just 16 deliveries, while Tion Webster and Andre Russell contributed with 27 and 17 respectively.

Notably, Narine also conceded just 15 runs off his two overs earlier in the game. His innings in the run-chase simply capped his match-winning all-round effort.

Brief scores:

Barbados Royals: 101-5 (10)

Rahkeem Cornwall 36 (15), Corbin Bosch 21 (17)

Terrance Hinds 3-13, Akeal Hosein 1-11

Trinbago Knight Riders: 104-3 (8.4)

Sunil Narine 35 (16), Tion Webster 27 (13)
