T20 Blast 2022 | SUS vs HAM | Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

Sussex and Hampshire are all set to lock horns against each other in Match 123 of the English T20 Blast. Sussex are already out of the reckoning for a spot in the knockouts, whereas Hampshire have already booked their place in the quarterfinals.

Both teams will be playing their last league stage encounter on Sunday. Sussex are placed seventh in the South Group, with four wins and nine losses from their 13 games.

They lost two successive games in the lead-up to this fixture, which has confirmed their exit from the group stage. They were handed a 28-run defeat in the last fixture by Essex, who posted a total of 197 runs on the board.

Despite short cameos from Ravi Bopara and Ali Orr, Sussex were never in the chase. Sussex will look to bow out of the tournament with a victory on Sunday. On the other hand, Hampshire guaranteed their spot in the quarterfinals after claiming a 15-run victory over Gloucestershire in the last round.

Hampshire have had a topsy-turvy campaign so far, but it has been enough to help them secure a top-four finish. They are placed fourth on the points tally, with eight wins and five losses. Hampshire have won three back-to-back games and have picked up form at the most critical stage of the tournament.

Four of Hampshire’s five losses came in the first five games. However, from then on, they have gone on to claim eight wins from nine games. Skipper James Vince has been leading from the front with his exploits this season. The English batter has scored 557 runs in 12 matches at an average of 55.70.

Hampshire could finish as high as second on the points table, given they win their fixture and other results go their way. As for Sussex, Rashid Khan has not been in the best of form this season. However, he did pick three wickets in the last fixture against Essex.
