Suryakumar Yadav ruled out of Sri Lanka T20Is

India batsman Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka at home. While he was seen at India's practice session in Lucknow on Tuesday, the 31-year-old batsman has suffered a hairline fracture on his hand and he has been declared unfit for the upcoming white-ball series as well.

BCCI in its statement informed that Suryakumar has sustained the injury while he was fielding in the third T20I against West Indies at Eden Gardens on February 20.

The middle-order star was adjudged 'Player of the Series' in the T20Is against West Indies. Pace spearhead Deepak Chahar has also been ruled out of the upcoming series in Lucknow and Dharamsala after having sustained a hamstring injury in Kolkata.

However, the BCCI hasn’t named a replacement as of now, looking at bio-security protocols amid the concern of COVID-19.

With this, Team India leaves with a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match white-ball series as well.

After the first game on February 24, the next two T20Is will take place in Dharamsala on February 26 and 27 respectively as well.

India's T20I squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan (wk), Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Avesh Khan.
