India's Surya Kumar Yadav has been included in World XI selected by former Australian legend Shane Watson. Watson, who was part of Australia's World Cup-winning team in 2007, revealed his top-five picks that included Surya, Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, David Warner, and Jos Buttler.

Watson maintained that Azam is the leading batter in the format looking at how the Pakistan skipper dominates bowlers without taking risks.

Surya, who is currently ranked second in the ICC T20I Rankings for batters behind Azam, is in red-hot form scoring 428 from 14 matches in 2022.

"Second one is Suryakumar Yadav. He's batting incredibly well, and he would be my No.2 pick." Watson told ICC Review

Watson also spoke about KL Rahul, who according to him can upstage Surya in the upcoming T20 World Cup Down Under in October. Rahul made his return to international cricket against Zimbabwe after long layoff due to injury.

"But I wouldn't be surprised at all if (India team-mate) KL Rahul explodes in the T20 World Cup in Australia, because he's got the game to dominate in these conditions in Australia."

Both Surya and Rahul will be in action during India's Asia Cup 2022 campaign, that kicks off against Pakistan on Sunday (August 28) at Dubai International Stadium.
