On June 25 (Saturday), Sri Lanka Cricket announced their 18-member squad for the 2-Match Test series against Australia at Galle.

The spinner Jeffrey Vandersay has earned a place in the side due to his impressive performances in the recently concluded ODI series against the Aussies. In four appearances, he picked up five wickets at an economy of 5.01 with the best figures of 3/49. However, the likes of Kamil Mishara, Kamindu Mendis, and Suminda Lakshan failed to get a place in the squad.
