Sitanshu Kotak, the former Saurashtra batter, has been appointed as India's head coach for the Ireland tour scheduled to start on 18th of August. India will play three T20Is in Ireland and are going with a young team with Jasprit Bumrah leading the lot in his comeback series.

India's regular coaching staff, led by Rahul Dravid has been rested for the series owing to a tight schedule for Men in Blue. Earlier, there were reports that VVS Laxman will travel with the team as the head coach in Dravid's absence but the former Indian batter has now decided to stay back in NCA at Bengaluru for the Emerging camp.

So, it has been decided that Sitanshu Kotak, who is the batting coach at NCA, will lead the coaching contingent in Team India's Irish journey. Sitanshu Kotak also has the experience of coaching India A for two years and it would be interesting to see how a young Team India goes about its business against a quality Ireland unit.
