India's rising young gun, Abhishek Sharma, has been the talk of the town ever since he made his debut during the India Tour of Zimbabwe earlier in July. 

In his first game, he might have had a disappointing run, but he bounced back with a bang, achieving a significant milestone by slamming his first-ever international century, that too in just 46 balls. 

A successful tour for him made him the fourth-highest run-getter for India with 124 runs in five games, and not to forget to mention, he also picked up two wickets.

Following his return, the city of Amritsar erupted in celebrations, a testament to the local support and admiration for Abhishek Sharma. His sister, Dr Komal Sharma, provided a glimpse of this as Amandeep Hospitals honoured her brother in a very special and unique way at the Le Méridien Hotel in Amritsar.

In a heartfelt post, Abhishek's sister, Dr Komal Sharma, expressed her gratitude for the event, describing how it deeply touched their hearts and left a lasting impact on them.

She also shared several pictures from the event, where there entire family was present and wrote:

Surprisingly, after a great debut tour, fans and numerous cricketers were in disbelief when Abhishek failed to book a birth for the upcoming India tour of Sri Lanka; instead, Riyan Parag was Team India's top choice.

The SRH-batter, who had a breakthrough IPL 2024 season with 484 runs in 16 games, led to his inclusion in India's squad for Zimbabwe. 

While we await his yet-to-come stellar performances, this much is true that he is at the cusp of following the footsteps of his mentor, cricketing legend Yuvraj Singh.
