The last year or so many have nothing less than a silk-stocking dream for India and Gujarat Titans' golden boy Shubman Gill, and he has added a feather to his illustrious career in the ongoing clash against Kolkata Knight Riders. On Sunday, Gill completed 2000 runs in the Indian Premier League in just 74 innings.

Gill has become the 48th overall batter to cross the 2000-run mark in the league, crossing the mark faster than AB de Villiers (76), Rohit Sharma (77) Virat Kohli (79), Sanju Samson (80), Yuvraj Singh (91) and more.

The 23-year-old batter started the IPL superbly, amassing a spellbinding 36-ball 63 against Chennai but failed in the last game against Delhi Capitals. However, the stylish hander is looking solid in his ongoing innings against his former IPL team.

Debuted in the IPL in 2018, Gill has played 77 matches in the league, scoring 2000+ runs at an average of 32.75 with his strike rate being 126.30, including 15 half-centuries to his name.

At the time of writing, Gill is batting at 26* off just 18 deliveries, with Sai Sudharsan on the other hand. The right-hander is looking to convert this start into a big score.

Gujarat Titans, after 7 overs, are at 62 for the loss of one wicket.
