New Zealand's Glenn Phillips produced a sensational knock to propel his team to a formidable total of 330/6 in the opening match of the Tri-Nation Series against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium on February 8. Phillips came to bat in at No. 6 and registered his maiden ODI century in spectacular fashion.

Talking about the match, New Zealand won the toss and after elected to bat first. But things didn't work out in the favour of the Kiwis as they suffered an early blow. Pakistan's star bowler Shaheen Afridi dismissed Will Young for just four runs in the first over. However, Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra steadied the innings with a 35-run stand for the second wicket. Williamson then partnered with Daryl Mitchell to add more valuable runs.

Phillips took charge in the latter half of the innings and dismantled the Pakistan bowling attack with a series of powerful strokes. In a breathtaking final over, he hammered Shaheen Afridi for 25 runs, and not just that he ensured that New Zealand finished strongly.

After his knock, fans took to social media and appreciated Phillips over his incredible display of power-hitting.
