In a concerning turn of events for the Pakistan cricket team, two of their key players, Shaheen Afridi and Abdullah Shafique, has fallen victim to a viral illness. This unfortunate development comes on the heels of their recent defeat at the hands of arch-rivals, India, in the ICC World Cup 2023. While some players have managed to bounce back, others are still under medical observation as they recuperate.

The Pakistan team's encounter with India, which culminated in a 7-wicket defeat, was a bitter pill to swallow for their loyal supporters. Now, as they gear up to face Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on the 20th of October, they find themselves grappling with the unexpected challenge of illness among their ranks.

Meanwhile, Pakistan cricket team has called off their training session due to the health concerns of some players. The practice session has been rescheduled for tomorrow.

In addition, Abdullah Shafique is currently battling a fever, while Shaheen Afridi and Usama Mir are dealing with illnesses, but they are showing signs of improvement. Fakhar Zaman has reported experiencing knee pain. The composition of the Pakistan playing XI appears uncertain at the moment, posing a significant challenge for the team.

The Pakistan team's media manager provided insight into the situation, stating,

"Some players fell ill in the past few days, but most of them have made a full recovery. Those who are still on the path to recovery are under the watchful eye of the team's medical panel."

This setback is reminiscent of India's Shubman Gill, who had contracted dengue but miraculously made a triumphant return to face Pakistan. Now, the Men in Green must focus on regaining their strength and ensuring that all players are in optimal condition as they prepare to face Australia.

The Pakistan team currently boasts two victories and one loss in the ICC World Cup 2023, with their sole defeat coming at the hands of their fiercest rivals, India. As they look ahead to their upcoming clash with Australia, it is imperative that they rally and come back stronger, both mentally and physically, to keep their World Cup campaign on track.
