Shadab Khan praises Adil Rashid for helping him in T20 Blast

Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan has revealed he has worked on his game with Adil Rashid during his stint with Yorkshire Club.

Shadab talked about his stint with Yorkshire in the Vitality T20 Blast 2022 during a press conference ahead of Pakistan's ODI series against the West Indies.

He said that while his performances were not up to the required standards, he still learned a lot from England and Yorkshire leg spinner, Adil Rashid, as he helped him understand the English conditions much better.

During his stint with Yorkshire, alongside team-mate Haris Rauf, Shadab played a total of four matches, though he could pick only one wicket with his leg-spin bowling.

The 23-year-old had a disappointing outing in the four matches he played in the competition. He failed to deliver with the ball and the bat as he struggled in alien conditions. He could only pick up 1 wicket at an average of 116.00 and an economy rate of 9.66 in four innings, while he scored 22 runs at an average of 11.00 and a strike rate of 110.00 in the 3 innings he played in the tournament.

Shadab also mentioned that it was frustrating for him to get injured over and over again, and making a comeback is never easy.

"It frustrates me to get an injury so quickly. But, as a professional cricketer, you have to work on it and make a comeback which is not easy at all," he said.

On his competition with fellow leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood, Shadab heaped praise on his team-mate and added that the competition between them is healthy for the side.

"A healthy competition between players ultimately benefits the team. Zahid (Mahmood) is a very good bowler and works really hard to make his mark," he said.

Talking about the upcoming series against West Indies, Shadab looked optimistic about the series' victory against the visiting team.

"The series against the West Indies is crucial. We will try to play well. The team looks good, and we hope that our team will succeed."
