On Tuesday, it will be a different pitch at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium when India and Australia face off in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025. The highly anticipated clash will be played on 4th March, where a fresh pitch is expected to be rolled out for this encounter where skipper Rohit Sharma has, however, confirmed that he is unaware about the condition of the pitch.
ICC To Roll Out Fresh Pitch For Semi-Final
The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, after leading his side wonderfully in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025, is now going head-to-head against the mighty Australian team led by Steve Smith in the first semi-final. Whenever these two sides clash, the game is always a blockbuster, as no one gives the other a free hand.
Now, with a lot of uproar against the Indian side playing all their matches in Dubai, while the rest of the sides are playing in Pakistan, the Indian skipper has come out in defence of his side in a recent press conference, clarifying that Dubai is not their home, while mentioning that the pitches are behaving differently.
For the unversed, India played their previous three matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand on completely different surfaces which behave differently, as mentioned by Rohit.
Additionally, Sharma even went on to further reveal that he is unaware about the pitch to be used for this semi-final. This is massive news considering the fact that the pitch which is going to be used is a fresh one, charted out by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as reported by Cricbuzz.
Moreover, the pitch will be prepared by the Dubai's pitch curator Matthew Sandery who also oversees the ICC Academy in the same region.
Apparently, it turned out that the Indian skipper has not seen the wicket yet, while the opposition captain, Steve Smith, had a good look at the pitch on the eve of the game.
It will be interesting to see how the wicket plays in the game, considering the fact that most of the pitches here have been slow and low, while this one is also expected to be not much different from the other one.
India To Play Australia On 4th March
