Topley to take a break from the game [PC-Twitter]
England and Oval Invincibles pacer Reece Topley has pulled out of the remainder of the Hundred 2022 in order to manage his workload.
The left-arm seamer will miss out on the final two weeks of the 100-ball tournament citing the effects of a “busy summer” and a desire to avoid injury.
Topley recently revived his white-ball career during India’s tour of England. He picked up the best figures by an Englishman in T20Is when he took 6/24 in the second T20I against Rohit Sharma‘s men.
He continued his rich vein of form with the ball against South Africa as well and ended the summer with 17 wickets across ten limited-overs appearances. After doing national duties, he joined the Oval Invincibles for the second edition of the Hundred. Topley took five wickets in his four appearances in the Hundred this season.
