Reece Topley's ongoing battle with injuries has once again put his participation in top-tier cricket tournaments in jeopardy. The England fast bowler, who has been grappling with various fitness setbacks, faces another setback as he is ruled out of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to a persistent niggle.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) took a cautious stance, denying Topley the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to partake in the PSL, thereby thwarting his opportunity to represent Multan Sultans in the tournament commencing on February 17.

This news comes as a significant blow not only to the Multan Sultans but also to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who had retained Topley for the IPL 2024 season. Topley's absence from IPL 2023 due to a shoulder dislocation against Mumbai Indians already marked a setback for both the player and his franchise. Now, with yet another injury setback preventing his participation in the PSL, questions loom over his availability for the IPL 2024 season.

Topley, who recently showcased his skills in the SA20 league representing Durban's Super Giants, demonstrated glimpses of his bowling prowess by bagging 12 wickets in ten matches. However, his commendable performance couldn't overshadow the disappointment of losing in the SA20 final to Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
