Quinton de Kock breaks into top 10 in T20I rankings ahead of T20 World Cup 2022

South Africa keeper-batter Quinton de Kock moved into the 10th spot in the latest ICC T20I rankings for batters.
Quinton emerged as the top batter in the recently concluded three-match T20I series against India with 138 runs in three innings. The performance have now seen him climb up one position in the rankings, and has 611 points under his belt.
The southpaw's career-best T20I rating of 671 came in September 2021, when he reached the eighth spot in the rankings. Quinton's teammate Reeza Hendricks currently sits at the 11th position with 609 points.
Quinton's form is certainly confidence-boosting for the Proteas ahead of the T20 World Cup due to his ability to play an anchor role and provide a flourish in the slog overs as well.
South Africa are slated to play T20 WC practice matches against New Zealand (October 17) and Bangladesh (October 19). The Temba Bavuma-led side will begin their campaign on Monday (October 24) against one of the teams, qualifying from the first round.
Coming back to T20I rankings, the in-form Mohammad Rizwan tops the list with 853 points, followed by Suryakumar Yadav with 838 points.
The elegant Dawid Malan, who led England to a historic T20I series victory in Australia with a knock of 82 off 50 balls is in the sixth position. His performance will be taken into account in the next week.
