In worrying news for fans, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) could shift the Pakistan Super League (2023) matches from Lahore and Rawalpindi cities to Karachi.

The nation's leading authority in cricket has called an emergency meeting of all PSL franchise owners today to discuss the possible staging of the remainder of the league in Karachi.

As per Cricket Pakistan, the decision comes after the interim Punjab government asked the PCB to pay PKR 500 million to conduct matches at the Pindi and Gaddafi Stadiums, respectively.

An amount of PKR 50 million has already been paid for food expenses. The remaining money is being demanded for lighting and security purposes.

If the matches are shifted to Karachi, the PCB will save themselves the aforementioned fees.

Today's meeting will also decide who will bare the expenses if all matches of the Punjab leg are indeed moved to Karachi.

Lahore and Pindi stadiums were due to host PSL 8 matches between February 26 and March 19, including the Qualifier, two Eliminators, and Final.

Rawalpindi was allotted 11 matches, while Lahore was scheduled to hold nine encounters. The first-leg witnessed matches played in Karachi and Multan, which began on February 13.
