PSL 2022 | Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi | Match 11 Preview, Predictions, Fantasy XI

Karachi Kings will clash with Peshawar Zalmi in the 11 match of PSL 2022, scheduled on February 4 at the National Stadium, Karachi.

Reeling at the bottom of the points table, Karachi Kings have failed to leave their mark so far in the tournament. The advantage of home venue has worked against them as their batters did not respond well to tough situations.

Sharjeel Khan has been the only positive in the batting department, while leadership seems to have affected Babar Azam's performance. The skipper's lacklustre show with the bat gives an indication of the side's issues.

With the batters not raising their hands up, there is not much to complain about the bowlers. They have not been given enough runs to defend on an easy batting wicket but still fared well in the last three encounters. Having no win in their kitty, the Kings will aim to add some points to their tally in the upcoming match.

Peshawar Zalmi too have been substandard in their performance. They have two wins to their name in three matches. Their bowling needs an urgent address as they have conceded 190 plus runs in two of the three games. While captain Wahab Riaz was supposed to lead the bowling department, he went wicketless in the last two matches.

Peshawar's batting has blown hot and cold with no top-order batter scoring runs on a consistent basis. While Kamran Akmal and Haider Ali showed good form against Lahore Qalandars, Shoaib Malik and Sherfane Rutherford played vital knocks in the first and second match respectively.

PSL 2022: Shadab Khan, batters give Islamabad United important win vs Quetta Gladiators

Quetta Gladiators' Mohammad Nawaz and James Faulkner's resistance in the final minutes of play against Islamabad United during the PSL 2022 fixture couldn't prevent a defeat as the Gladiators were bundled out for 186 in the last over while chasing a mammoth target of 230 runs in 20 overs to lose the match by 43 runs. The Quetta side had a decent start to the chase as openers Ahsan Ali and Abdul Bangalzai put up a partnership of 54 runs for the first wicket in less than 6 overs but Bangalzai's dismissal broke the shackles and the Gladiators began to lose wickets at regular intervals to eventually get reduced to 110/7 with the likes of Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shahid Afridi also back in the hut. But Nawaz and Faulkner then joined hands and chipped in with a partnership of 76 runs for the 8th wicket. While Nawaz scored 47 off 22, Faulkner remained unbeaten at 30 off 14. Ahsan top-scored for the team with a 27-ball 50. But their efforts weren't really enough to the side home. For Islamabad United, it was Shadab Khan who ripped through Quetta's batting unit to bag a five-wicket haul for 28 runs in 4 overs. Earlier, in the day, Islamabad rode on some aggressive batting display from Paul Stirling, Alex Hales, Colin Munro and Azam Khan to post 229/4 in the allotted 20 overs. Munro struck 72* off 39 while Azam Khan notched up 65 in 35 deliveries. Stirling too unveiled another masterclass with the bat to make a contribution of 58 runs in just 28 balls. Nawaz scalped a couple of wickets for 32 runs in his 4 overs.
