Prasidh Krishna made his return to competitive cricket at the RSI Grounds during the KSCA T20 event. Turning up for Mount Joy Cricket Club, the speedster claimed four wickets in his four-over spell against Sir Syed Cricketers.

Krishna made his previous competitive appearance back in August 2022 through an ODI match against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club. The Karnataka bowler missed his subsequent India A assignment owing to a stress fracture, which also ruled him out the entirety of this year’s IPL 2023 season.

Krishna’s impressive return earns him tour to Ireland

Prasidh Krishna was set to feature in India A’s white-ball matches against New Zealand A in September 2022. However, a stress fracture prompted him out of the series, prompting Shardul Thakur to take his place.

The fracture also kept Krishna out of the Ranji Trophy 2023 season for Karnataka, as well as the entirety of IPL 2023 season for the Rajasthan Royals.

The speedster spent much time at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), where he underwent his rehabilitation alongside fellow injured pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

As it turns out, both fast bowlers have now been deemed fit as they just earned a callback into the national side for the upcoming T20I series in Ireland.

Krishna was selected in a 15-player Indian squad for a three-match series against the hosts, set to be played between August 18 and August 23 in The Village, Malahide.
