PCB raise their concerns amidst rise of franchise cricket

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have constantly raised their concerns regarding the prominent rise of T20 leagues across the globe.


With South Africa recently opting out of their bilateral series against Australia, prioritizing their franchise league to be held in January, PCB have yet again raised questions regarding the future of international cricket.


PCB CEO Faisal Hasnain raises concerns


“The growth of franchise cricket is impacting the already-crammed international cricket calendar.”


“The PCB is concerned about this development and wants the ICC to formulate a strategy on this issue,” said PCB chief executive Faisal Hasnain while talking to the media this Saturday.


ICC are scheduled to release the Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the upcoming cycle this month during their annual conference at Birmingham.


BCCI hope to find a separate slot for IPL in upcoming FTP


Boards are already expecting the cycle to be cramped with a plethora of franchise leagues across the globe. 


Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has already suggested prioritizing the Indian Premier League in the upcoming FTP, with plans to have two separate months on the calendar for the lucrative league. 


It will surely be interesting to see how things unfold with the future of International cricket at stake.
