PAK vs AUS | Aaron Finch commends Nathan Ellis, Josh Inglis after T20I win

Australia ended their Pakistan tour with a one-off T20I win, with their skipper Aaron Finch back-patting Nathan Ellis and Josh Inglis for their significant contributions.

Pakistan gained a good start with the bat as Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan hammered 67 runs for the opening wicket. Debutant Cameron Green broke the partnership. Then, however, Ellis inflicted a shocking collapse and ended with the career-best figures of 28/4.

Finch lavished praise on the inexperienced Ellis for his good bowling show and added that the 27-year-old has a bright future.

"He brings an unbelievable attitude and work ethic to games and training. His energy, intensity, ability to learn quickly, whether it be with the new ball, old ball, talking to experienced players, coaches, he's just got an amazing attitude that he brings to the table," Finch said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

"And he's someone that the boys love playing with. When he turns up, he's just got an infectious attitude that he brings. He's just one of [those] guys who will have a super future because he's prepared to challenge himself each day, which is a great sign, especially from a guy who hasn't had a huge amount of international experience," he added.

Inglis, who played as a wicket-keeper for the first time in international cricket, recorded a score of 24 runs in the game. The Western Australian had tested positive for COVID-19 during the ODI series and recovered well to feature in the solitary T20I fixture against Pakistan.

"He's been fantastic. Nothing seems to faze him. The attitude that he brings out in the middle is brilliant. It's good fun batting with him. He's somebody who, again, takes in so much information. After seven days of isolation and starting off really well, his ability to walk out of a hotel room was outstanding," Finch said about Inglis.

"And he's just someone again, like Nathan Ellis; the guys love being around and love having him in the squad. He's a super player. He's got so much talent as well. So yeah, I've been really impressed with Josh.”
