RCB and MI are currently facing off in the 20th match of IPL 2025 at the iconic Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. Whenever, these two teams face-off against each other, the contest between Virat Kohlia and Rohit Sharma takes the center stages.

Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are two of the best players and batters in the modern era. With both of them playing in the same game, you might be exceeding that there should have been many matches where both of them dominated the contest. However, here is a surprising fact - there is only one match in the history of the tournament where both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have scored more than fifty runs in the same match. 

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma: Half-century in the same IPL match

Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were facing off in the 14th match of the IPL 2018 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rohit Sharma came out to bat when the Mumbai Indians were struggling at 0/2 after the first two deliveries.

The Indian legend played a fluent and flamboyant knock of 94 runs from 52 deliveries. He was aided by Evin Lewis at the other end and the duo ensured that the Mumbai Indians posted a formidable total on the board. Mumbai Indians posted 213 runs for the loss of six wickets at the end of the 20 overs.

In the chase, Virat Kohli walked out to open the innings and turned out to be the lone warrior for the team. Kohli scored 92 runs off 62 deliveries and gave his best to take the team close to the target. However, he ran out of partners as the other batters failed to score runs. At the end of the game, RCB managed only 167 runs for the loss of eight wickets losing the match by 46 runs.

In the 20th match of the tournament, Virat Kohli played a brilliant knock and scored 67 runs off 42 deliveries.  On the other hand, Rohit Sharma made a fluent start for his team but failed to continue. Rohit Sharma got dismissed by Yash Dayal after he scored 17 runs off nine deliveries hitting a couple of boundary and a six. 

So, even till today the 10th match of IPL 2018 remains the only game, where both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scored more that 50 runs in the same match.
