India may have walked away with the Champions Trophy in Dubai but there was a glaring absence that left everyone stunned. Despite being the official hosts of the tournament, not a single representative from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was present at the presentation ceremony.

It wasn’t just a minor detail, it was a massive statement or rather, the lack of one. And former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar wasn’t having any of it.

Shoaib Akhtar Rips Into PCB

Known for speaking his mind without pulling punches, Shoaib Akhtar tore into the PCB for their complete absence at an event they were supposed to be hosting. The Rawalpindi Express was livid, questioning why no one from the board showed up when their presence was expected.

"India won the ICC Champions Trophy and I saw a weird thing that no representative from Pakistan Cricket Board was present in Dubai despite the fact that they are the hosts. Why did no one come to represent Pakistan is beyond my understanding. Someone should have been here on the world stage but I did not see anyone," Akhtar lashed out.

It was a moment that left fans and pundits scratching their heads. How does a host nation not even bother sending someone to hand over the trophy? It was a snub of epic proportions, intentional or not.

India’s Victory Overshadowed By PCB’s Absence

While India celebrated their third Champions Trophy title with a commanding five-wicket win over New Zealand, the absence of PCB officials became the biggest talking point.

India, playing all their matches in Dubai due to political tensions, had no issues with the arrangement. But the fact that Pakistan were the official hosts and still failed to send a single official to the final has raised serious questions.

The PCB’s Absence Speaks Volumes

While the cricketing world debated India’s dominance and Rohit Sharma’s leadership, the PCB’s absence from the biggest night of their own tournament became the story of the final.

Whether it was a snub, an oversight, or just sheer negligence, one thing is certain: Pakistan cricket’s administration is under fire once again. And when someone as vocal as Shoaib Akhtar calls them out, you know it’s not going away anytime soon.

For now, India lifts the trophy, New Zealand walks away with heartbreak, and the PCB walks away with questions it needs to answer.
