The International Cricket Council (ICC) will be organising the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and for the first time in the United States.

One of the biggest clashes in the T20 World Cup 2024 will be one between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, and the ICC has finalised a venue for this blockbuster clash in the United States.

As per a report of Cricbuzz, the ICC is set to organise the high-octane India vs Pakistan clash at a 34,000-seater pop-up facility about 30 miles east of New York City, which will be one of the venues for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

The report added that this facility will be constructed in Eisenhower Park, a sprawling 930-acre area in East Meadow, a hamlet on Long Island, just 30 miles east of Manhattan.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has been putting massive efforts to make cricket more accessible to the fans in the USA, where the sport enjoys massive popularity.

"The announcement is set to come within months after the substantive talks between ICC and New York City officials fell through for the construction of a similar pop venue in Van Cortlandt Park in the borough of Bronx," the Cricbuzz report stated.

"The city officials were compelled to drop the plans for Bronx after some heavy resistance from some of the locals residing around the park and one of the cricket leagues that is based out of the same park," it added.

They earlier hosted the inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC), which turned out to be a big success, and it must have bolstered their confidence.

Earlier, the ICC were pondering to build a pop-up spot in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. However, locals residing around the park and a local cricket league based out of the park resisted, and the ICC dropped the plan.

The lack of proper cricket facilities in the United States has been a significant talking point in the T20 World Cup 2024 lead-up.

While the inaugural Major League Cricket 2023 did introduce a 15,000-seat stadium in Dallas this year, and Central Broward Park near Miami exists, the country still awaits the establishment of a permanent, floodlit cricket ground.

The T20 World Cup 2024 is set to commence on June 4, with the tournament's final set to be played on June 30.
