On Saturday, April 5, CSK locked horns against DC at the Chepauk Stadium. The hype was unreal for the match as there were speculations that it might be MS Dhoni's last match of his career. Notably, Thala's parent made a rare visit to the stadium and their presence sparked a retirement rumour.

However, the fans were delighted when there was no such announcement from the Men in Yellow and the rumour mill was shut down when CSK head coach Stephen Fleming remarked that MS Dhoni is still going strong in his post-match conference.

Stephen Fleming On MS Dhoni's Future

“No, that's not my role to put an end to it. I have no idea. I'm just enjoying working with him still. He's still going strong. I don't even ask these days. You are the ones who ask,” Fleming said in the post-match press conference.

Meanwhile, it is tough for MSD to stay away from the headlines as he again hogged the internet after a quote and video of his went viral where he spoke about playing IPL till 44. Notably, the 43-year-old can be heard saying that he will decide on his future after the end of IPL 2025.

MS Dhoni's Old Clip Goes Viral

"No, not right now. I am still playing the IPL. I have kept it very simple, I take it one year at a time, I am 43, by the time IPL 2025 finishes, I will be 44, so after that I have 10 months to decide if I would play or not. But it is not me deciding, it is my body that decides. So, one year at a time, we will see after that," MS Dhoni said in the podcast.

Here Is The Truth Behind The Viral Video

For the unversed, MS Dhoni is soon going to make his podcast debut as he has shot an interview with influencer Raj Shamani. However, the quote and the video that has been circulating on social media isn't something that Dhoni said after DC match.

It is worth noting that the interview was shot a few weeks ago and MSD spoke about his future around that time. However, the former India skipper is yet to release an update on his future or retirement plans post Delhi Capitals' loss.

Thus, it is an old clip that is now being circulating online as a statement made by Dhoni amid his retirement speculations, which is untrue.
