Jasprit Bumrah was recently ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 following a stress fracture in his back.
It seems that the Indian management have finalised their replacement for the ace pacer.
Mohammed Shami is all set to fly to Australia within the next 3-4 days as Jasprit Bumrah's replacement in the T20 World Cup.
As per reports from PTI, left-arm seamers Mukesh Choudhary and Chetan Sakariya have also joined up with the Indian contingent as the Men in Blue prepare for the showpiece event in Perth. Both players have been brought in as net bowlers for now.
Apparently, the Indian think-tank wanted to add some variation to their pace attack by bringing in the likes of Choudhary and Sakariya.
Meanwhile, Shami has not been in the T20I frame with India for a while and he will be raring to prove himself in the shortest format of the game, especially if he is handed the opportunity to do some damage with the ball in Australia.
As for Bumrah, his absence will come as a major blow for the Men in Blue regardless of who comes in to replace him. The 28-year-old is undoubtedly the best bowler in the Indian arsenal by far.
