The Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have made some new additions into their squad amidst the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 season. The franchise roped in English all-rounder Tom Curran and hard-hitting Australian Tim David amongst their ranks, which is already glittered with the likes of West Indies heavyweights Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Nicholas Pooran.

TKR enhance themselves with new CPL 2023 signings

Prominent T20 freelancers Tim David and Tom Curran will now be donning the TKR colours for the first time in their careers.

Curran’s signing also marks his first CPL stint with any franchise, as the Englishman adds another league to his T20 resume. Notably, the cricketer has been linked with the franchise, albeit in IPL. In 2018 season of the tournament, he turned up for KKR alongside soon-to-be TKR teammates Andre Russell and Sunil Narine.

Meanwhile, David was part of St Lucia Kings between 2021 and 2022 seasons of the CPL.

Aside from the two cricketers, TKR has also incorporated Irish wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker into their star-studded line-up. Apart from playing 59 T20Is for Ireland, the 26-year-old has featured in prominent T20 leagues like CPL and ILT20 in his career.

Led by Kieron Pollard, TKR launched their CPL 2023 campaign with a match against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in Gros Islet last week. However, the contest was washed out owing to ceaseless rains at the venue.

Pollard and co. will now face St Lucia Kings in Basseterre on August 26 to kick-off their Saint Kitts’ phase of the tournament.

New recruits Tim David, Tom Curran and Lorcan Tucker are expected to join the squad within the next few days.
