England's tearaway quick Mark Wood made a brilliant return to international cricket in the third T20I of England’s tour of Pakistan 2022 in Karachi after spending nearly seven months on the sidelines due to injury.

Wood made his return to the cricket field against Pakistan in the third T20I game of the five-match series at the National Stadium in Karachi. The return of Wood turned up the heat as he hit some of the fastest speeds ever recorded by an English bowler and picked up three for 25 from four fiery overs with his scalps being Pakistan captain Babar Azam, Haider Ali, and Haris Rauf.

Reflecting on his brilliant return to the international scene, Wood expressed his happiness and said that he enjoyed his first outing in England colours and aims to help his team win games with his express pace.

"I loved it. I enjoyed it so much, being back out there for England and I felt really happy to get them wickets. If I can bowl quickly and try and help the team that way, that's what I'm going to try and do," said Mark Wood.

The right-arm Durham quick further stated that he is focusing to bowl fast and make things happen with the ball in his hands.

"We'd spent the game before not bowling any bouncers. That was it. I let it fly. I was trying to bowl fast, really. It could have gone either way: they could have smacked me, but we got a couple of wickets. I just tried to charge in and make something happen."
