Legend set to replace Ganguly as BCCI president

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will be replaced in the upcoming future. Outgoing President, Ganguly is set to leave the post this October 18. The general annual meeting will also be held on the same day. 


Jay Shah to continue as secretary 

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is set to continue his tenure and Vice-President Rajiv Shukla will also retain his position. Shah can continue his tenure till the year 2025. 


Former great to replace Ganguly 

Former Indian cricketer Roger Binny is set to replace the BCCI President Ganguly. This will be Binny's first time holding office in the Indian Cricket Board. Binny has been Karnataka State Cricket Association's (KSCA) President since 2019. He also led the KSCA's administration alongside Anil Kumble. 

Reports suggest that Binny was the sole contender for the post as nominations closed on Monday. 

Meanwhile, former Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Ashish Selar will be appointed as the treasurer. 


New IPL Chairman 

Former Indian batter and current IPL chairman Brijesh Patel (70 years old) will be asked to leave the post as he has fulfilled the age limit. The maximum permitted age for an office bearer or administrator in BCCI is 70. 

Arun Dhumal will replace Patel as the IPL Chairman. Dhumal is former board President Anurag Thakur's brother. Thakur is currently the Sports and Youth minister of India.
