Kuldeep Yadav’s rehabilitation begins at NCA in Bengaluru

India’s left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has resumed the rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The leggie picked up an injury before the 1st T20I against South Africa at home. The spinner informed his fans through a tweet about the update.

Kuldeep was initially selected to play in the Five T20I series at home against the South Africans. It was supposed to mark the renewal of his partnership with his spin-twin Yuzvendra Chahal, popularly known as “Kul-Cha”.

Just before the opening encounter, Kuldeep Yadav was ruled out of the series following a hand injury. However, he was not the only player to have picked up an injury before the series could begin. Opener KL Rahul who was supposed to lead the side into the series, sustained a groin injury that made him unavailable for the series and the one-off test match against England in the 1st week of July.

Unarguably, Kuldeep Yadav was in the form of his life after an overly successful stint with the Delhi Capitals in the recently concluded IPL. While at KKR, his previous long-term franchise, Kuldeep was dropped out of the team management’s plans and spent more or less of his time in the dugout. But under Ricky Ponting’s vision and Captain Rishabh Pant’s plans, the spinner found his rhythm and took charge of himself and the spin bowling department of the Delhi Capitals.

It won’t be an overstatement to say this - Kuldeep Yadav looked fresh, hungry, and had one of his better stints in the IPL all these years. However, it was unfortunate that the spinner had to halt for yet another speed bump in his career due to the hand injury he picked up.

Nevertheless, as fans & enthusiasts, all we can hope is for a speedy recovery, only to see Kuldeep Yadav back on the field again, bamboozling the batters.
