  • Kl Rahul Hits Test Hundred After Three Years Gets Onto The Lords Honours Board

KL Rahul hits Test hundred after three years, gets onto the Lord's Honours Board

Continuing his good form from the first Test, KL Rahul went onto score a century on the first day of the second Test against England at Lord’s. He reached his first three-figure mark in the longest format in three years and registered his name on the Lord’s Honours Board.

He hit nine fours and one six off Moeen Ali to reach the landmark. His last century in the format had also come against England at the Oval in 2018.

He took a lot of time to get going and played second fiddle with Rohit Sharma going great guns at the other end. However, as soon as his senior partner departed, he took charge of India’s innings and started opening up his shoulders.

He put on a long 126-run partnership with Rohit and followed with another 100-run unbeaten partnership with the skipper Virat Kohli.

Rahul’s composure with the bat, along with Rohit at the other end frustrated England, who had decided to bowl first after winning the toss.

Notably, Rahul came into the playing XI only after Mayank Agarwal got ruled out of the first Test after sustaining a head injury in the nets. He has made the best use of the opportunity with a splendid 84 in the first Test and followed by Lord’s century.

Trent Rockets vs Birmingham Phoenix: When & where to watch match LIVE, Probable XI, Fantasy XI

Trent Rockets will play Birmingham Phoenix in Nottingham on Friday (August 13, 2021). Birmingham will be coming into this game on the back of a scintillating win over Welsh Fire by 93 runs. The side rode on individual fifties from Will Smeed and Moeen Ali to post 184/5 in 100 balls and later, the bowlers especially Imran Tahir ripped through the batting order to win the match with a comprehensive margin. Birmingham though will be without the services of Moeen as he has joined the England side for the second Test against India at Lord’s. On the other hand, Trent Rockets suffered a defeat against Oval Invincibles by 9 runs. The bowlers did give away a lot of runs that pushed them on the back foot. TNPL 2021 | CSG vs DD | Qualifier 2: When & where to watch match LIVE, Probable XI, Fantasy XI

Chepauk Super Gillies and Dindigul Dragons will lock horns in the second qualifier of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) on Friday in Chennai. Chepauk lost the first qualifier against Ruby Trichy Warriors while Dragons defeated Lyca Kovai Kings in the eliminator to make a place for themselves in this clash. The winner of this match will meet Warriors in the title clash on Sunday (August 15, 2021) at the same venue. In the previous encounter between Chepauk and Dragons, the Super Gillies etched a comfortable win by 24 runs. They managed to put 159/7 in 20 overs despite a middle-order collapse. Kaushik Gandhi and Jagadeesan were the only two batsmen who were among some runs. But it was their bowling, especially Sai Kishore who bagged a four-wicket haul and pushed the opposition on backfoot. In the Qualifier against Tricky Warriors, the Chepauk bowlers did get some early wickets but failed to capitalise on that and eventually lost the match. Dragons on the other hand had a decent outing against Kovai Kings both with the bat and bowl. While the bowlers restricted Kings from putting up a big score, the batsmen chipped in with some valuable runs. Captain Hari Nishaanth notched up a fifty while Vivek remained unbeaten at 52.
