In the eleventh match of the World Cup 2023, the Kiwis had a thumping win over the Bangladesh team. This match was Kane Williamson's first official game since his knee injury, and he seems to have picked up an injury again while running between the wickets.

The Kiwis were all over the Bangladesh team in all three departments of the game. Firstly, they restricted them to a below-par score of just 245 runs and fielded impressively. Even though Bangladesh got a couple of wickets early, but Kane Williamson's 78 and Daryl Mitchell's 89 helped the team chase down the total with eight wickets in hand.

How did Williamson get injured again?

The Blackcaps' captain, Kane Williamson, had a great time in the middle, scoring 78, but he had to leave the field as he suffered a blow to his left hand while running between the wickets. The throw from the deep struck his left hand against the bat's handle. He took treatment on the field but eventually left the field.

Williamson got injured in the first game of the IPL, and since then, he hasn't played a game until now. Although he did bat in a couple of warm-up games, but this was his first official match. His job was done as the Kiwis were in a commanding position to chase the total comfortably before he had to leave the field.

In the post-match presentation, Kane Williamson said that his thumb got fat and it became difficult for him to hold the bat. He also said that he will have a scan tomorrow and hope it's not something big.

The Kiwi captain already missed a couple of games in this tournament and the knock he played today demonstrated how he takes the game deep and close it. They have won three in three now, and are ruling the points table with exceptional performances in all three games.
