Ahead of the Lord's Test between India and England on July 10, the Shubman Gill-led side have received positive news as Jasprit Bumrah was spotted bowling full throttle in the training.
According to a report from Revsportz, Bumrah looked in great shape and bowled 45 minutes in the nets. Notably, the right-arm seamer missed the second Test at Edgbaston because of Workload management. Looking at the training sessions, it is all but confirmed that the 31-year-old will mark a return to the team for the third Test.
Bumrah Bowls At length In The nets
Bumrah was instrumental in the first Test as the right-arm seamer took a five-wicket haul in the first innings and is now most likely to be partnered with Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, who rose to the occasion in the 2nd Test and helped India break the Edgbaston curse.
The series is levelled at 1-1 and the Shubman Gill side require Jasprit Bumrah more than ever. While there is no official statement on the seamer's availability, the right-arm pacer has dropped hints of his participation.
Bumrah's Record At Lord's
If Bumrah is a part of the playing XI, which he is touted to be by replacing Prasidh Krishna, then the 31-year-old will play his second Test at the Mecca of Cricket. Meanwhile, let's look at the seamer's record at Lord's.
Jasprit's only appearance at Lord's came in the famous 2021 Lord's Test, where he took three wickets in that match. Surprisingly, Bumrah hogged the limelight for his batting as he contributed 34 crucial runs to the team total.
England Coach Worried About Bumrah's Return
Ahead of the Lord's Test, England head coach too issued a Jasprit Bumrah warning and stated that the India seamer is more than likely to play the 3rd Test.
"Bumrah will more than likely come back in for the next one, so we’ve just got to make sure we’re well planned and well prepared and ready for the next challenge. It (Lord’s) will be quite different I imagine to this (Edgbaston) surface and that’s probably a good thing for us," McCullum said to the press.
India will lock horns against England on July 10 at the Lord's for the 3rd Test.
