James Anderson willing to come back under new Test Skipper Ben Stokes

James Anderson, the Veteran England pacer, is now keen to operate under the new England Test skipper, Ben Stokes. Stokes batted for Anderson and Broad's inclusion after taking up tighter controls of the Test verge.

Anderson, alongside Stuart Broad, were not picked up for England's three-match Test tour of West Indies last month. Pundits reckoned that the selectors have now moved on from the duo. However, after taking over the reins of the side, Stokes requested their inclusion.

The newly appointed Managing Director of England Cricket, Rob Key, recently declared that both Anderson and Broad are keen to make a comeback and are available for selection. Clearly, the duo are England's top two highest wicket-takers for England in Tests and are sharing 1,177 wickets between them. Moreover, the pair have certainly aged like fine wine and have done well in their recent assignments as well.

James Anderson stressing upon delivery, said, "We've got to put in some performances in the county to prove that we can get in that final XI. Because of this situation and not having people in these roles, you're just so unsure of what's going to happen. So now having that clarity is really nice,"

Meanwhile, Stokes came into power as Joe Root decided to step down from the role amid England's horror run in the longest format. The Three Lions have won just one of their last 17 Tests, and there are several loopholes in the side.

It can be said that the star all-rounder has a challenging task ahead of him. His first assignment as the full-time skipper will be a two-match home Test series in June against New Zealand. The series is set to mark Anderson and Broad's return to the national team, and the duo will have a point to prove. Besides, Root will continue to serve the national team as a pure batter.
