It's been on track: Rahane on his recovery from tendon injury

Experienced Indian batter, Ajinkya Rahane, was ruled out of the IPL 2022 mid-tournament after tearing a tendon in his leg during KKRs league match against SRH. The severity of the injury was such that Rahane might be out of action for another six to eight weeks.

However, Rahane, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA, has informed PTI that he is on the right track to his recovery. Considering the unfortunate injury, the Mumbai batter said that he was at the NCA for ten days and will revisit the academy soon to carry out his recovery process.

"That (injury) was really unfortunate. But my rehab is going really well. I am recovering really well. I was in Bangalore (at the NCA) for nearly 10 days and I am going there again for my rehab and recovery. It’s been on track", Rahane said.

Rahane expressed his desire to regain full fitness and get back into action as quickly as possible. As the veteran cricketer put it, he is currently moving steadily towards this goal by setting small targets and taking it one day at a time.

"So right now, my only focus is on getting better. Get fit as soon as possible and be on the field. I am not sure (when) I will be able to get (fully) fit, it is expected to be around 6-8 weeks but at this moment it is about taking one day at a time, one week at a time" the 33-year-old concluded.
