'It has not changed anything in the camp'- Fleming on Rayudu’s tweet

Yet another Twitter storm had taken over after Ambati Rayudu posted ‘This will be my last IPL’ on Saturday. He announced on Twitter that the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League will be his final season, but soon after an hour, he deleted the twitter statement.

Former Kiwi captain and current coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Stephen Fleming joined in the conversation a day later and talked about the matter in question during a press conference held after the match between the Gujarat Titans and Super Kings, which the latter lost by seven wickets.

In the match against Gujarat Titans played at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, Rayudu was not included in the playing XI, and Fleming explained that Rayudu was not happy with his performance as a batter. His tweet was a direct outcome of his internal musings regarding his performance.

Things are however fine now and Fleming discussed this during a post-match virtual press conference

"It was not disappointing, it was probably a little bit of a storm in a teacup, to be honest. But, I think he was fine. It has not changed anything in the camp but it is a non-story."

The CSK CEO also clarified the situation to NDTV: "He was a bit disappointed that he was not doing well. So, he mistakenly put out that tweet. I have explained things to him. He is not retiring. He will be with us."

Rayudu was purchased for INR 6.75 crore by CSK in the IPL 2022 mega auction. Rayudu has 271 runs at an average of 27.10 in 12 games this season.

When it comes to the match between CSK and GT, the defending champions batted first and scored 133/5 in 20 overs.

Gujarat Titans chased down the score with seven wickets in hand and five balls to spare, thanks to Wriddhiman Saha's stellar 67-run knock.
