Ireland are set to Zimbabwe for three ODIs and three T20Is in January 2023.  All the matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club.

The ODI series is not part of the World Cup Super League.

The tour will start with the T20I series on January 12, 14, and 15. Followed by the ODI matches on January 18, 20, and 23.

The upcoming series will the first assignment for both the sides since the T20 World Cup. It also provides enough game time ahead of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, set to take place in June-July.

Zimbabwe are out of running to directly qualify for next years' World Cup, scheduled to take place in India. Meanwhile, Ireland are in a four horse race for direct qualification.

Currently, Ireland are at the 10th position in the Super League points table. They have a home series left against Bangladesh and the Irish team needs to win all three games to finish at the eighth position, and hope that both Sri Lanka and South Africa lose their remaining fixtures.
