In a significant development coming from Srinagar, IPL team Delhi Capitals have called five cricketers from Jammu and Kashmir to attend trials slated to be held in Delhi on the 26th and 27th of October. The five players were selected from the tryouts that the franchise organised in Srinagar, where around 50 athletes participated.

The five-member list consists of batter Shubham Khajuria, Jiyaad Magrey, gun pacer Sharukh Dar, left-armer Mujtaba Yousuf and spinner Abid Mushtaq. All these names have been in decent form lately and have been on the potential list of many franchises.

While Khajuria has represented the Indian Under-19 side, he has also been a crucial member of the J&K side. Sharukh Dar is touted to be the second-fastest bowler from J&K after Umran Malik, who is known for his extreme pace. Furthermore, he has been a net bowler for various IPL sides.

Abid Mushtaq had a fantastic season with both bat and ball, where he was consistent with his performances in spite of the team not having success.

Capitals' team scouts Saba Karim and Shantanu Chokhani were sent by the franchise to oversee the development in Kashmir.

Umran Malik, Rasikh Salam and Abdul Samad are the only three players to be a part of the IPL setup currently.
