Suryakumar Yadav has been one of the most destructive batters in the shortest format of the game in recent times. His strike rate in the international arena is a phenomenal 176.37. 

His recent exploits have earned him a lot of fans and praise from the cricketing community. The latest addition to his list of fans is the World Cup winning Indian captain, Kapil Dev. 

In a promotional event Kapil Dev was heard talking very highly of Suryakuamr Yadav.  The legend said: 

"No one ever thought about Yadav being an impact player in the future, but he did great with his batting and forced the world to talk about him."

“Now, we can’t think about India without him. Having a batter like Suryakumar in the team in the company of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, a team automatically becomes strong."

Suryakumar Yadav's big opportunity

Suryakumar Yadav has entered the T20 World Cup as the second ranked batter in the format in international arena. The only batter ahead of him in the rankings is Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan. 

Notably he is the highest ranked Indian batter in T20Is. The other Indian batters in the Top 20 of the list are- KL Rahul (13), Virat Kohli (15) and Rohit Sharma (16). 

While everyone expected that Suryakumar will be key to India's run in the T20 World Cup, he failed to get an impressive start to the tournament. He will get a chance of regaining his form in India's next clash against Netherlands before the important matches of the tournament.
