Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has showered glowing praise on wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik for his whirlwind finishing acts for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing IPL season.
Having endured a couple of average years with the bat at Kolkata, where he shunted up and down the order, Karthik has nailed the finisher's role to its absolute hilt this season.
The veteran Indian cricketer was picked by RCB at the recent mega-auction, and he has proved to be an epic acquisition thus far.
The Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper batter has been dismissed just once in six games and has been tremendous with the bat this season, scoring 197 runs with a staggering strike rate of 208.70 and an unbelievable average of 192.
Heaping high praise on Karthik, Tendulkar, in a video on 100 MB, said that the former is picking line and length quickly and is not premeditating any shot,
"RCB have a dangerous player in the lower-order in Dinesh Karthik. Karthik has the ability to play 360 degrees, be it against a spinner or a fast bowler. When he started attacking, he literally did it from the first ball. And it doesn't look as if he had made up his mind early that 'I will hit this ball towards midwicket or above covers," he said.
"He looks at the ball and hits it, and the speed at which he is picking the line and length, very few batters in world cricket can read line and length quicker than DK," he added.
Karthik was again at his imperious best in the game against the Delhi Capitals (DC) as he smashed an unbeaten blistering 34-ball 66 with the help of five fours and as many sixes.
Karthik took the attack to Mustafizur at the death, smashing the left-arm seamer for four boundaries and two maximums. DK and Shahbaz Ahmed (32* off 21 deliveries) hammered 97 runs in just over eight overs to help RCB post 189/5 in the designated twenty overs.
