IPL 2022 | Rajasthan manage to hold on to their winning streak courtesy a botched No-ball

'Match 34' of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 saw a high voltage clash as Rajasthan Royals were up against the Delhi Capitals Runs came flying all across the park as batters from both sides utterly dominated the contest.

The game saw a controversial finish, as Delhi were ready to back out of the game due to a botched no-ball decision. However, the game resumed after the umpires convinced the players to continue the play. The final result of the match saw Rajasthan emerge victorious by 15 runs.

Earlier in the day, just like the other teams, DC skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl, and it wasn't a surprise at all. However, it played to the strengths of the Royals as they have won all four matches batting first.

The first three overs were high-class stuff from Khaleel Ahmed and Shardul Thakur. Khaleel bowled four beautiful away swingers to Buttler in the first over, and the English talisman was finding it a bit difficult to cope with the swinging ball.

However, once he got one away of Khaleel Ahmed in the 4th over, it was again a Buttler masterclass as he kept plundering the DC attack all around the park. He was particularly severe on Kuldeep Yadav, who was having a great tournament up till now.

He took him on, and none of the other spinners was spared either. However, Devdutt Padikkal was doing his business at the other end quite nonchalantly and smashed some delightful shots during his impressive half-century.

Some of the strokes Buttler played were sheer audacity, and it was carnage on display as DC skipper Rishabh Pant fell short of answers. None of his bowlers could give him the cushion as Buttler kept running away with the game.

Khaleel Ahmed eventually dismissed Padikkal in the 16th over as he tried to work one away down the leg side. It thudded onto his pads despite the onfield umpire giving not out, Khaleel pushed Pant to go for the review, and it worked for them when replays showed that there was no inside edge, and it would have clattered onto the stumps.

Skipper Sanju Samson joined Buttler in the middle at the fall of DDP's wicket and went into 5th gear right from the word go. While Samson started off briskly, Buttler continued his carnage at the other. It was pretty amazing stuff from the Englishman as he made a mockery of the DC bowling line-up.

Mustafizur Rahman eventually dismissed him in the penultimate over as he chipped a low full toss straight to the long-on fielder. His knock of 116 came in just 65 deliveries and was studded with nine fours and nine sixes.

Samson played just 19 deliveries, but his knock of 46 provided the much-needed late impetus to the innings. He smashed a four and a six of the last two deliveries to take their side to the highest score in this edition of the IPL with a total of 222 runs on the board.

The Delhi capital openers started off with a blast, scoring 43 in just four overs, but RR bowlers came roaring back! Warner looked aggressive but was dismissed with a beauty off Krishna, and even Shaw gifted his wicket away after getting a good start there.

Rishabh Pant (44 off 24) looked really dangerous and looked like the pillar between RR's win and loss but gifted his wicket away under pressure. Thakur was promoted up the order but couldn't utilize the opportunity.

Lalit (37 off 24) held one end, wickets kept falling at the other, but he kept fighting till the end and played a brilliant inning! Powell did give some hopes in the last over with three consecutive sixes off the first three but could not take his team over the finishing line with the momentum broken due to the unfolding drama.
