IPL 2022 | ‘He carries himself with a lot of confidence’- Sai Kishore on Hardik Pandya

Gujarat Titans spinner Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore praised skipper Hardik Pandya by calling him a strong personality.

The 25-year-old slow left-arm orthodox bowler shared an interesting incident from the Titans' last league game to describe his captain's "simple" nature.

"Hardik (Pandya) to me has been pretty simple. In the last game, he came to me and said, 'Left-hander is batting, do you want me to tell you anything, or you know?' I said, 'I know, I'll take care," R. Sai Kishore told Gujarat Titans' official website.

The tall spinner believes that Hardik is a very strong personality as he has a lot of confidence in himself and his teammates. He further stated that the seam bowling all-rounder gives freedom to the players to express themselves.

"I find Hardik as a very strong personality. He carries himself with a lot of confidence and has confidence in his players as well. Not trying to impose himself on all the players. Give them their space, their freedom, and 'you express yourselves. If something goes wrong, I'll be there. That's how I've seen Hardik. 

I've always loved the kinds of captains who give the responsibility to the player, rather than just imposing always. Then your instincts just get cut off. So credit to captains like that, always fun to play like that," Sai added. 

Kishore has been impressive since making his first appearance in the IPL in the 12th game of the Titans against Lucknow Super Giants and impressed with figures 2/7. He dismissed Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan in his very first game. 

The Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans finished at the top of the points table in the league stages of the cash-rich league with 10 wins out of the 14 matches. Titans will now take on Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals in the first qualifier on Tuesday (May 24) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
