Women's T20 Challenge 2022 | Supernovas vs Velocity Match Preview, Prediction, Probable XI, CREX XI

After handing Trailblazers a crushing defeat in the opening match of the Women's T20 Challenge, Supernovas will face Velocity on May 24. A second successive victory will confirm their participation in the final.

Velocity will have a tough challenge at hand to counter the raging Supernovas. Deandra Dottin looked in sublime touch for Supernovas against the Trailblazers before a mixup ended her innings. Priya Punia, Harleen Deol and the skipper played freely, manipulating the field. 

Pooja Vastrakar shone for Harmanpreet's side on the bowling front with a 4-for. She would like to add more to the tally and establish herself as an indispensable all-rounder. Supernovas are unlikely to tinker with their squad. However, they may replace Chandu V with another domestic star.

The Deepti-Sharma led side has the batting to take on the no.1 T20 bowler in the world, Sophie Ecclestone. Shafali Verma and South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt make a dream opening combination. The duo should open unless the captain promotes herself or Kiran Navgire is handed her debut cap. Navgire was the top scorer in the recently concluded Senior Women's Trophy.

Ayabonga Khaka and Kathryn Cross are likely to be the two pace bowling options for Velocity. Khaka is a proven match-winner for the Proteas. Cross' variations will come in handy on Pune's pitch, which slows down as the game progresses.
