Sunrisers Hyderabad have had the most disappointing IPL season since they lifted the trophy back in 2016. The Hyderabad-based franchise has already been knocked out of the tournament after losing 8 out of the nine matches that they played.
SRH will now be up against Chennai Super Kings in Sharjah on Thursday. CSK are in some good form and have won eight out of the 10 matches that they have featured in.
Both the sides are coming into the game on the back of a win in their respective last encounters. The Sunrisers rode on some fine piece of batting from Jason Roy and captain Kane Williamson to chase down a tricky target of 165 in Dubai by 7 wickets.
CSK on the other side were involved in a last- ball thriller against KKR while chasing 172 but eventually stood on the winning podium in Abu Dhabi. Ravindra Jadeja once again showed up his class and calibre at a crunch situation and chipped in with 8-ball 22.
This is the second instance when the two sides are facing each other in this edition of the IPL. The last time the two teams met was in Delhi where CSK chased down a target of 172 runs by 7 wickets, courtesy a batting masterclass from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis.
While CSK would now look to continue the momentum, SRH will have a chance to test a few players.

Pitch Report
The track might have something on offer for the batsmen while the spinners can play a vital role in the middle overs. So, if you win the toss, elect to bat first.
‘All-rounder’ Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja has proven his worth time and again. He has been a lethal customer with the bat for CSK and has chipped in with some runs at brisk pace during the course of the tournament while has been a handy bowler as well.
Apart from this, Jadeja’s fielding ability has always been something to watch out for. The left-handed all-rounder has been one of the many reasons for CSK's brilliant form at the moment in the competition.
No opening woes
The Chennai Super Kings have Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top who has been in decent form in the tournament and has been scoring runs for the side consistently. On the other end, Faf du Plessis’ experience with the bat is immense and having a player of his capability is a boon for any side.
Contrary to this, SRH had been facing some issues with their opening after former skipper David Warner has had a lean patch for quite some time now. But the Sunrisers brought in Jason Roy in place of Warner and the England batsman didn’t really take much time to stamp his authority. While he notched up a fifty, Roy also provided a steady start to the team along with Saha.
Team News
CSK: The Chennai Super Kings are in decent form and would be looking to continue the momentum. The Super Kings might want to try their bench strength in this match and give rest to other players to manage the work load.
SRH: The Sunrisers Hyderabad would want their middle order and especially the young brigade to go all guns blazing. Barring Jason Holder, none of the players have really shown mettle in the competition and the team management would want them to finish the tournament on a positive note.
