Former India skipper MS Dhoni has added another feather to his hat after he became the first captain to lead in 300 T20 matches. The wicket-keeper batsman led Chennai Super Kings in their ninth IPL final when the side took on Kolkata Knight Riders in Dubai on Friday in the title clash.
The Chennai franchise lifted the IPL trophy in the year 2010, 2011 and 2018 while were crowned the Champions League winners in 2010 and 2014 respectively.
Dhoni has led the Super Kings right from the inception of the league while he has also captained Rising Pune Supergiants for one edition during the period when CSK and RR were slapped with a ban of two years for spot-fixing.
While MS has been one of the most successful captains in the cash-rich league, he led India to the winning triumph in the inaugural edition of World T20 back in 2007.
The Men in Blue defeated Pakistan in the final to clinch the victory. But the second time when India made it to the final of the T20I World Cup, the Dhoni-led side suffered a defeat in the final against Sri Lanka.
He will now join Team India once again in UAE for the upcoming World T20 but in a different capacity. Dhoni has been appointed as the mentor BCCI for the tournament.
