Former England player Jonathan Trott has put his weight behind the Scotland side and said that the unit comprises of several 'matches winners'.
"We have some really good players in this Scotland squad, the batting line-up is full of match-winners," the 40-year-old told The Scotsman.
“In terms of the batters, they are a powerful bunch of lads. It is going to be about who can deal with the pressure and not let the occasion get a hold of the emotions when the World Cup starts,” he added.
The Scotland side first made an appearance in a World T20 in the inaugural edition in 2007 but finished at the bottom of the group that had subsequent champions India and Pakistan. The script didn’t really change much in 2009 as well and the side finished last in the group.
Later, Scotland played the 2016 World T20 and defeated Hong Kong. The win though wasn’t enough to help them make the qualification from a group that had Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.
Scotland begin the campaign on October 17, 2021 (Sunday) against Bangladesh in Al Amerat and will then play PNG on October 19 and co-host Oman on October 21 at the same venue respectively.
