India skipper Virat Kohli sent legal notice regarding online rummy

Team India skipper Virat Kohli has landed himself into trouble after the Kerala High Court on Wednesday issued a legal notice to the flamboyant batsman and actors Tamanna and Aju Vargheese. It is related to the petition seeking a ban on online rummy portals after several youths have questioned the fact that brand ambassadors play a very important role in getting them addicted to playing the games. All these three aforementioned celebrities are brand ambassadors of the online rummy.

The petitioner has made a complaint to the high court stating that several people have committed suicide in the country after incurring huge losses by playing the online game. Meanwhile, the high court has also issued notice to the state government and is waiting for their response.

It must be noted that a certain Vineeth aged 27 recently committed suicide in Trivandrum after losing a huge sum of Rs. 21 lakhs. Meanwhile, Sajesh who is an addict of the game has also incurred a huge loss. During his interaction with the IANS, he said, "The intervention of the honourable High court is welcome as I know that several people have lost a huge amount of money playing this online game and I myself have lost more than Rs 6 lakh.”

The brand ambassador indeed plays a big role in attracting the gullible youth in playing this game which soon turns into an addiction. I had to seek professional medical help to come out of this addiction and the court must ban this game in India,” he added.

Shai Hope, brother Kyle test positive for COVID-19

West Indies opener in ODIs Shai Hope and his brother Kyle have tested positive for the coronavirus infection and subsequently been ruled out of the regional Super50 Cup starting February 7 to 27 in Antigua. Both Hope brothers underwent testing on Sunday and reports found them infected with the virus on Tuesday. Both Shai and Kyle Hope will be placed in isolation in accordance with Government of Barbados protocols, Barbados Cricket Association said in its statement. "The Hope brothers, Shai and Kyle, have tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss the Cricket West Indies (CWI) CG Insurance Super50 Cup in Antigua, February 7 to 27," the Barbados Cricket Association said in a statement. "Shai and Kyle Hope will be placed in isolation in accordance with Government of Barbados protocols," it added. Barbados have replaced Hope brothers by wicket-keeper/batsman Tevyn Walcott and top-order batsman Zachary McCaskie in the 15-man squad which will be led by West Indies Test captain Jason Holder and is set to leave for Antigua on Sunday, January 31. SMAT 2021 QF: Vishnu Solanki hits six off the last ball to take Baroda into the semis

In an edge of the seat finish, Vishnu Solanki hit a six off the last delivery including 19 runs in the last over, out of which 16 came on the last three balls against Haryana to take his side Baroda into the semi-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. Solanki, who came in at three stayed till the end to see his team through a chase that dwindled in the center uncertainty. Earlier in the day, Baroda won the toss and decided to bowl first, and did exceedingly well to restrict Haryana to just 148 in their 20 overs even after Himanshu Rana and Shivam Chouhan got starts. Watch: England arrive in Chennai for the long Indian tour

The England team today landed in Chennai for their 46-day long tour of India where they would play four Tests, five T20Is, and three ODIs in Chennai Ahmedabad and Pune. While the first two Tests would be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the remaining two Tests along with the five T20Is would be played in the Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera in Ahemadabad followed by three ODIs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Being locked up for months unsustainable: Aaron Finch wants solution to bio bubble problems

Australian opener Aaron Finch believes that more time in the bio-bubble is causing problems to the players emotionally and mentally. Named in the Australian team to tour New Zealand for a five-match T20 series, Finch, who captains the limited-overs Australian side said that it might be easier for a single guy, without commitments to remain in the bubble for a longer period of time than someone with a wife and kids, especially when they are not allowed on the tour. “My wife worked out that I have had only 20-22 days without any quarantine since last April. If the bubble and hubs continue, they must be looked into and discussed properly,” the 34-year-old was quoted as saying by the TOI. “The welfare of players is paramount and being locked up for months is unsustainable, especially if you are away from your families and they can’t travel with you,” he added saying that the boards around the world must discuss this issue if the format of the tour is going to remain as closed group bubbles in near future. Cricket Australia announced two different squads for a limited-overs tour to New Zealand and the Test tour to South Africa. While the limited-overs squad would be led by Finch, Tim Paine has been given another chance to prove himself as a captain after the drubbing from India this summer.
