The World Cup 2023 is one of the biggest spectacles in the cricketing world, and teams prepare hard for years to beat the best sides in the competition. However, sometimes plans do not fall in place for the most confident teams, whereas others thrive under pressure.

Talking about the chasing record for the teams, the hosts India have boosted a solid record in one-day cricket since the start of 2022, where they have chased down the targets 19 times out of 27 in the past one and a half years.

Pakistan are second while Bangladesh hold the third place to their name in this regard, nevertheless, the most surprising of teams in the list is positioned ninth on the charts with just three wins in eleven chases and no doubt, they are England.

Jos Buttler's men are having a horrible tournament with three losses so far from four games, having given up against New Zealand, Afghanistan and, most recently, against South Africa in Mumbai.

The defending champions are placed ninth with a chase percentage of 27.2, which is just above the Netherlands, who are tenth ranked with 25% win in chasing games.

England had to taste another defeat in the World Cup versus the Proteas by a massive margin of 229 runs after the latter posted 399 on the board, which the Three Lions couldn't nail down and, in fact, were short of the target as they were bowled out for just 170.

On the other hand, India have been pretty decent on the chasing front, where they have managed to take control of the game on several occasions, having been unable to finish the match eight times.
