  • Ind Vs Sl 1St Test As Virat Gets Dismissed On 45 Prediction Tweet Goes Viral

IND vs SL | 1st Test | As Virat gets dismissed on 45, prediction tweet goes viral

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli's wait for his 71st international hundred continued on Friday (4 March 2022) after the 33-year-old got knocked over by left-arm Orthodox Lasith Embuldeniya on the first day of his 100th Test in Mohali.

Kohli was really good during his 76-ball 45 before he misguided the length delivery, which spun away to run past his outside edge to hit the off-stump pole

Following his dismissal, a tweet has gone viral after the events mentioned in it were vindicated to the hilt.

A Twitter account had posted on the eve of the 1st Test that Kohli will get bowled by Lasith Embuldeniya for 45 and as always will make give an expression of utter shock.

"Kohli Won't score a 100 in his 100th test. Will score 45 (100) with 4 gorgeous cover drives and then Embuldeniya will knock his stumps over and he'll pretend to be shocked 😳😳 and will nod his head in disappointment."

This is exactly what happened as Kohli once again looked bewildered after getting knocked over by a spinner.

Interestingly, this is not the first that Virat has been bowled by a spinner in recent times, especially a left-arm orthodox.

In the past 12 months, he has been dismissed by Jack Leach, Harpreet Brar, Ravindra Jadeja and Ajaz Patel in the same manner.

Nevertheless, the tweet has now gone viral on social media, with former cricketers like Virender Sehwag reacting to it.

Meanwhile, before his dismissal, Virat treated fans with some vintage stroke play and in the process, he went past the milestone of 8000 Test runs.

The former captain has joined an elite club of Indians who have scored that many runs at the Test level. The club included Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag.

Nevertheless, the stars of the opening day for India proved to be Hanuma Vihari and the flamboyant Rishabh Pant. While Vihari creamed a classy half-century, Pant fell short of his 5th hundred by 4 runs (96 off 97 deliveries) but not before he had set the stadium on fire with his stroke play.
